General Questions

Yes, 100% free. You can create unlimited resumes, use all templates, and fill in every section without paying anything. We keep the app free by showing ads from Google AdMob. A short ad plays before you download or share your PDF โ€” that's it. No subscription, no premium tier, no hidden charges.

No. There is no account, no login, no email registration โ€” nothing. You open the app and start building your resume immediately. Your data is saved directly on your device, not on our servers.

Yes. You can create and edit your resume completely offline. Internet is only needed to load ads (when downloading/sharing) and to open links like LinkedIn or our legal pages. The core resume-building and PDF export functionality works with no internet connection.

There's no hard limit. You can create as many resumes as your device storage allows. We recommend having separate resumes tailored to different job types โ€” for example, one for IT support roles and one for software development roles.

Resume Building

When adding or editing a work experience entry, you'll see a "Currently working here" checkbox below the End Date field. Tick it and the end date will automatically be set to Present on your resume. The date will display as "Jun 2024 โ€“ Present" or similar across all templates.

Yes. Go to the Manage Sections screen from the editor dashboard. You can drag and drop sections to reorder them, and toggle sections on or off. Put your strongest section at the top โ€” for freshers, Education often goes before Experience.

In the Personal Details section, tap the photo area at the top. This will open your device gallery so you can pick a photo. Note: not all templates display a profile photo โ€” some ATS-optimized templates (like Clean ATS Pro and Classic Pro) intentionally omit the photo to improve ATS compatibility.

Yes. On the home screen, long-press any resume card to see options including Duplicate. This creates an exact copy you can edit independently โ€” useful for tailoring the same base resume to different job applications.

The preview in the app is a close approximation rendered using Flutter widgets. The actual PDF is generated using the Helvetica font and PDF library, which renders slightly differently. In most cases the difference is minor โ€” font weight, line spacing, and exact layout may vary slightly. The PDF is always the final version.

Templates & PDF

For IT, corporate, and MNC applications, we recommend:

  • Clean ATS Pro โ€” best ATS compatibility, plain and professional
  • Classic Pro โ€” traditional single-column, universally accepted
  • Executive โ€” black & gold, good for senior roles

Avoid heavily designed templates (like Sidebar Dark or Crimson Edge) for ATS-heavy application portals โ€” the two-column layout can confuse some parsers.

Yes โ€” all templates are designed with ATS compatibility in mind. Specifically:

  • Single standard font (Helvetica) โ€” universally parseable
  • No tables, charts, or progress bars in content areas
  • Standard section headings: EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, SKILLS
  • Contact info in the main page body, not in PDF headers/footers
  • Left-aligned text throughout

Single-column templates (Classic Pro, Clean ATS Pro) have the highest ATS compatibility. Two-column templates work well for human readers but may be parsed less accurately by some older ATS systems.

Open your resume in the Preview screen. At the bottom action bar, tap the download icon (arrow pointing down). A short ad will play, then your PDF will be saved to your device's Downloads folder or Documents. You can also tap the share icon to send it directly via WhatsApp, Gmail, or any other app.

Yes. In the Preview screen, tap the print icon in the action bar. This opens Android's built-in print dialog, which connects to your Wi-Fi printer or Google Cloud Print. You can also save as PDF from this dialog.

Data & Privacy

All your resume data is stored locally on your device using Android's SharedPreferences storage. None of your personal information โ€” name, phone, experience, education โ€” is uploaded to any server. We don't have a backend database with your data. If you uninstall the app, the data is deleted.

Currently, resume data does not transfer automatically when you change devices or reinstall the app. We strongly recommend downloading your resumes as PDFs and saving them to Google Drive or emailing them to yourself before switching devices. This is a known limitation we're working to address in future versions.

Go to the Profile tab โ†’ scroll down to the Data section โ†’ tap Clear All Data. This permanently deletes all resumes and preferences from your device. Alternatively, uninstalling the app removes all data as well. This action cannot be undone, so export your PDFs first.

No. We don't collect the resume content you enter. The only data collected is standard ad-related data by Google AdMob (device type, general location for ad targeting) โ€” which is the same as any free app with ads. See our full Privacy Policy for details.

Notifications & Settings

If you have Reminders enabled in the Profile screen, the app sends one motivational notification per day at a random time between 9 AM and 8 PM. These are gentle prompts to keep your resume updated. You can disable them anytime by going to Profile โ†’ Reminders โ†’ toggle off.

Open the app โ†’ tap Profile tab โ†’ find the Reminders toggle โ†’ turn it off. You can also disable notifications system-wide from your phone's Settings โ†’ Apps โ†’ Pro Resume Maker โ†’ Notifications.

Troubleshooting

Try these steps in order:

  • Force close the app and reopen it
  • Restart your phone
  • Check if there's an app update available on the Play Store
  • Clear the app cache: Settings โ†’ Apps โ†’ Pro Resume Maker โ†’ Clear Cache
  • If the issue persists, email us with your device model and Android version

A few things to check:

  • Make sure the app has storage permission enabled (Settings โ†’ Apps โ†’ Pro Resume Maker โ†’ Permissions โ†’ Storage)
  • Ensure you have enough free storage space on your device
  • Try sharing instead of downloading โ€” this often works even when direct download doesn't
  • If an ad didn't load, the download may not trigger โ€” check your internet connection

This is a known issue with certain Unicode characters (like em dashes, emojis, or special symbols) that don't render in the PDF's standard font. The app automatically converts these to plain alternatives. Make sure you're using the latest version of the app (v1.0.2+), which includes improved character handling. If you still see issues, try replacing any unusual characters with plain text equivalents.

This feature was added in version 1.0.2. Please update the app from the Google Play Store to get this and all other recent fixes. Go to Play Store โ†’ search "Pro Resume Maker" โ†’ tap Update.
