How to Use the App

Build your first professional resume in under 10 minutes

You don't need to be a designer or tech expert to make a great resume. This guide walks you through every step β€” from opening the app for the first time to sending your PDF resume to a recruiter.

Step-by-Step Guide

1

Open the App & Tap "Create Resume"

When you open Pro Resume Maker, you'll see your resume dashboard. If it's your first time, it'll be empty. Tap the + Create Resume button at the bottom of the screen to start.

You can create multiple resumes β€” for example, one for IT jobs and one for general applications. Each resume is saved separately.

Give each resume a clear name so you can tell them apart later (e.g. "IT Support Resume" or "Fresher Resume 2026").
2

Fill in Personal Details

The first section asks for your basic information:

  • Full name, job title you're applying for
  • Phone number, email address, city
  • LinkedIn URL and personal website (optional but recommended)
  • Profile photo (optional β€” some recruiters prefer no photo)
Your job title should match the role you're applying for, not necessarily your current role. For example: "IT Service Desk Analyst" instead of "Engineer".
3

Write Your Professional Summary

The summary is the first thing a recruiter reads. Keep it 3–4 lines. Mention:

  • Your qualification and years of experience
  • Key skills relevant to the job
  • What kind of role you're seeking
Write your summary last β€” after you've filled in all other sections. It's easier to summarize once you can see the full picture.
4

Add Work Experience

Tap the Experience section and add each job you've held. For each entry:

  • Enter company name, your job title, and start date
  • If you're currently working there, tick "Currently working here" β€” the end date will automatically show as "Present"
  • If you've left, pick the end date from the date picker
  • Add 3–5 bullet points describing what you did β€” start each with an action verb (Led, Managed, Built, Increased…)
Quantify your achievements wherever possible. "Handled 30+ tickets daily" is much stronger than "handled customer queries".
5

Add Education

Add your degrees from newest to oldest. Include:

  • College/school name and degree
  • Start and end year (e.g. 2019–2023)
  • Score or percentage (optional)

Add all three levels if you have them: B.Tech / Degree β†’ Intermediate (12th) β†’ High School (10th).

6

Add Skills, Projects & More

Use the additional sections to complete your resume:

  • Skills β€” list technical and soft skills relevant to the job
  • Projects β€” add personal or academic projects with tech stack and a brief description
  • Languages β€” mention languages you speak and your proficiency level
  • Certifications β€” add any online courses, NPTEL, Infosys, or other certificates
  • References β€” add a professional reference with their contact details (optional)
You can rearrange sections by going to Manage Sections. Put your strongest section at the top.
7

Choose a Template

Tap Preview / Choose Template to see your resume live. Swipe through the templates at the top to switch between designs instantly.

  • For IT and corporate jobs β†’ use Clean ATS Pro or Classic Pro
  • For creative roles β†’ try Emerald Split or Modern Blue
  • For senior roles β†’ try Executive or Navy Timeline
When in doubt, use Clean ATS Pro. It's the most widely accepted format by Applicant Tracking Systems.
8

Export & Share Your Resume

Once you're happy with your resume, use the action bar at the bottom of the preview screen:

  • πŸ“₯ Download β€” saves the PDF to your device storage
  • πŸ“€ Share β€” opens your phone's share sheet (WhatsApp, Gmail, Drive, etc.)
  • πŸ–¨οΈ Print β€” send directly to a printer
  • πŸ“‹ Copy β€” copies the resume as plain text (useful for pasting into job portals)
A short ad may play before downloading β€” this is how we keep the app completely free for everyone.

Pro Tips for a Better Resume

🎯

Tailor for Each Job

Create a separate resume for each type of role. Duplicate your base resume and tweak the summary and skills.

πŸ“

Keep it One Page

If you have under 5 years of experience, aim for one page. Recruiters spend an average of 7 seconds on a first scan.

πŸ”€

Use Keywords

Read the job description and mirror the exact keywords in your resume β€” ATS systems scan for these terms.

βœ…

No Spelling Errors

Read your resume out loud before sending. A single typo in your name or email can cost you the opportunity.

πŸ’Ύ

Save PDF Copies

Always download your resume to Google Drive or email yourself a copy. App data can be lost if you change phones.

πŸ”„

Update Regularly

Set a monthly reminder to update your resume with new skills, projects, or achievements β€” even if you're not job hunting.
